By bus

Canarian people call buses “guaguas.” The bus service in Tenerife is run by the company TITSA and covers every corner of the island. They operate a modern fleet of bright green buses. You can either pay for each individual trip or buy a “bono-bus” (bus pass). These passes can be used on every route, can be shared between several people and save about 50 percent on the price of a ticket.
You can buy a “bono-bus” in any TITSA bus station (not in the bus itself). There is also the option of buying it in many newsagents or other shops showing a TITSA sticker.

By taxi

There are normally several taxi companies that operate in each municipality of the island. Tenerife’s taxis are white. They all have meters which will run from the beginning of a journey although it is also possible to negotiate a fixed price in advance for a day trip or excursion to a particular part of the island. There are also taxis equipped to take disabled passengers (eurotaxis) that have a ramp and can take a person in their own wheelchair. There are some larger taxis but the majority take a maximum of four passengers including children.

By tram (only in metropolitan area)

Currently the tram follows Line 1 Santa Cruz-La Laguna, with 21 stops and a journey time of approximately 40 minutes to complete it, and Line 2 from La Cuesta to Tincer.

To enjoy the many advantages of the tram, you just need to buy a ticket or travel pass at any of the ticket machines available at stops or in MTSA offices located at both terminals of the line and validate the ticket in the cancelling machines inside the tram compartments. There is also the possibility of buying it through an app called “Ten+móvil” and you can pay directly using the app on the bus.
